I spend time with the couple to get a clear understanding of the format or program that they would like for the day. I have a wide variety of readings and suggested ceremonies that we can use as a base to create something that holds meaning and relevance, to make it an unforgettable day. The Ceremony will work along very similar lines to a wedding. Often the same requirements apply – eg sharing both the ceremony and a celebration afterwards with family and close friends, photographers, cake etc. I provide a certificate as a record of the day that both partners sign and it is witnessed. |

A commitment ceremony is a way of recognising a relationship between partners that have a love, respect and friendship for each other. They may feel that the conformity of a traditional legal ceremony is not necessary. The essence of this commitment is the taking of another person in their entirety, as lover, companion, and friend. It is, therefore, a decision which is not entered into lightly, but rather undertaken with a real consideration and respect for both the other person, and oneself. Commitment ceremonies most often take place in either of the following situations: · A Heterosexual couple who wish to publicly honour their relationship, but for their own reasons, do not wish to enter into the formality of a legal marriage · Gay and Lesbian couples The preparation is similar to a marriage with ensuring that the couple is committed to each other and understand that any commitment is a serious matter and should not be taken lightly.
